ASBA Hosting Webinar on ASTM Resources for Fields

As ASBA continues to bring its resources to the members, it also works to help members learn in the most technologically available ways. ASBA’s next webinar, “A Guide to ASTM Resources Available For Synthetic and Natural Turf Fields,” will be presented on Wednesday, February 15, 1 p.m. Eastern.

Registration for the webinar, available free to ASBA members and $99 for non-members, is available here.

In the webinar is an in-depth look at what the ASTM has to offer for the design, construction and maintenance of synthetic and natural turf fields. There will also be a discussion of available methods, and of how these methods can be used throughout the life of a field to better monitor, control and improve their quality of life, and athletes’ quality of experience.

The presenter will be Michael Gentile, founding member of Sports Labs USA. (Some ASBA members may remember seeing him at the Technical Meeting in a special pre-meeting session on surface testing.) He has worked with his partners to lead an organization dedicated to service, integrity, quality and innovation. Michael has specialized in developing quality control mechanisms designed for project success. He believes that quantifiable performance indicators will lead to better surfaces for everyone.

Sports Labs USA has become North America’s largest and most trusted recreational surface testing and inspection firm. Sports Labs is ISO 17025 accredited, holds every major sports testing certification and provides testing services for 900+ fields annually in North America alone. They have provided services for clients and events that include the FIFA Women’s World, World Rugby, Super bowl, NFL stadiums, Major League Soccer teams, IAAF Track & field and many major universities.

In addition to its excellent and useful content to members, this webinar is also valuable in terms of continuing education. Webinar participants are eligible to receive 1 CEU credit for the ASBA Certified Field Builder Program (CFB) and 1 CEU credit from the ASLA & AIA.
